Attorney Patrick Sampair

Patrick Sampair has over 29 years of legal experience and has helped thousands of Arizonans with their family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and alimony (or spousal maintenance) disputes.  Mr. Sampair has expertise resolving complex financial matters that arise in a family law dispute, drawn in part from his experience litigating civil and criminal tax cases during his early years of law practice. Mr. Sampair is committed to providing his clients with effective and affordable legal representation; he is dedicated to minimizing the negative effects divorce proceedings and related disputes can have on children.

Education & Experience:

Mr. Sampair received his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University Law School in Minnesota in 1981, and a Bachelor of Science from Creighton University in 1976.  He is admitted to practice law in Arizona and Minnesota, and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Minnesota State Bar Association.  Mr. Sampair is also admitted to practice before Arizona state and federal courts, the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Ninth Circuits, the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for Arizona and Minnesota, and the U.S. District Court of Minnesota

Mr. Sampair is a former Judge Pro Tem in the Maricopa County Superior Courts, and a former Adjunct Professor of Law at the William Mitchell School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.  In 1992, he was appointed by the U.S. District Court of Arizona to represent indigent defendants pursuant to the federal Criminal Justice Act.

Lindsay Olivarez joined Sampair & Associates in 2010 bringing over 5 years of family law experience to our practice. Ms. Olivarez began her family law career as a paralegal and law clerk in a well-respected valley firm where she gained significant experience working with clients in a variety of family law issues including divorce, custody, relocation and modification actions. As an attorney, Ms. Olivarez continues her commitment to representing each client aggressively and with compassion and respect.

Education & Experience:

Ms. Olivarez received her Juris Doctorate from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University graduating with Pro Bono Distinction and as a Pedrick Scholar. During law school, Ms. Olivarez was an Assistant Project Director for the Homeless Legal Assistance Project assisting valley homeless families with largely family law matters. She additionally authored a paper on the Maricopa County Spousal Maintenance Guidelines using extensive original research. Ms. Olivarez received her Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, also from ASU, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Barrett, the Honors College, having written her undergraduate Honors Thesis on conflict in family law modification cases.

Ms. Olivarez was the recipient of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Arizona Chapter 2007-2008 Scholarship. She is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, Arizona Women Lawyers’ Association, Maricopa County Bar Association, Scottsdale Bar Association, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
